INSTAGRAM FLYWITHCAPTAINJOE: https://goo.gl/TToDlg MY WEBSITE: https://goo.gl/KGTSWK NEW FACEBOOK PAGE: https://goo.gl/heUKGb Today´s topic will be airplane take-off speeds, V1, VR and V2. I´m sure many of you have heard about these speeds. I will explainin more detail what is so important about V1. By the book V1 is defined as „The speed beyond which the takeoff should no longer be aborted“. Meaning that in case you experience any trouble with your plane before reaching V1, the classic example would be an engine failure, you would immediately abort your take-off and would apply all necessary matters to bring the aircraft to a stop. Vr or better know as Rotate is defined as, “The speed at which the pilot begins to apply control inputs to cause the aircraft nose to pitch up, after which...

And oh I saw you put your soul In the cast, Of what used to be our love. Thoughts seep in. Feel it in the morning light. Dreams again, Of you and I, And how I long for you. Holding on, All by my lonesome. We’re stranded in this life Everything seems to be Falling apart, In some technicolor. And oh I saw you put your soul In the cast, Of what used to be our love. When I woke up, Nothing was the way it seemed. A body needs, Torn between the force inside. Then I broke out. Realised what you were to me. And though we tried, Could we have known what love was like? I know it might go wrong, If you and I go on. In time I can let go, I can only hope Ah yes I know it’s so cold. Ooh in some technicolor Ooh of what used to be our love ‘Cause I’ve been branded, stranded, Holding up these walls. And when she sees, and I know, Someone’s got the best of my, Oh got the best of my soul. Still up on you, so long. And I’m outside baby, and I don’t know why? All this time, you were fine when you know I’ve been dead inside I know it’s so cold I can see, it will rise. I don’t care how it arrives. Will it be all our lives, Hiding from the fear inside? And I’ve been branded, stranded, Holding up these walls. And when she sees, and I know, Someone’s got the best of my, Oh got the best of my soul. We get our clearance to taxi and we make our way out to runway 28, taking our place in the line. We are then treated to a beautiful departure from Zurich, getting a view of both engines spooling up on the right wing. During the short flight we are served a snack for lunch, consisting of small pastry and some sort of salty compote. It isn't long before we commence our approach into Luxembourg, getting vectors from ATC for the ILS approach to runway 24. Vr or better know as Rotate is defined as, “The speed at which the pilot begins to apply control inputs to cause the aircraft nose to pitch up, after which it will leave the ground“. Easiest way to memorize Vr is, the point where the nose wheel leaves the ground vortexes are created at the wing tips which „rotate“ behind the aircraft. V2 is defined as the Takeoff safety speed. The speed at which the aircraft may safely be climbed with one engine inoperative. I will go through speeds and hope my explanation solves a few question about these mysterious speeds. more at http://scitech.quickfound.net/astro/nasa_news.html "Astronauts Borman, Lovell, Schirra and Stafford tell about the first rendezvous of two manned spacecraft. The unprecedented pad turnaround at Cape Kennedy and President Johnson's press conference following the event are included." NEW VERSION with improved video & sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNwR0hNUeBo Reupload of a previously uploaded film with improved sound and video, and all in one piece instead of parts. Public domain film from NASA, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and 1-pass exposure & color correction applied (cannot be ideal in all scenes). The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemini_7 Gemini 7 (officially Gemini VII) was a 1965 manned spaceflight in NASA's Gemini program. It was the 4th manned Gemini flight, the 12th manned American flight and the 20th spaceflight of all time (includes X-15 flights over 100 kilometers (330,000 ft)). The crew of Frank F. Borman, II and James A. Lovell, Jr spent nearly 14 days in space making a total of 206 orbits, and were joined on orbit by the Gemini-6A flight which performed the first rendezvous maneuver of manned spacecraft. Objectives Gemini 7 was originally intended to fly after Gemini 6, but the original Gemini 6 mission was cancelled after the failure during launch of the Agena Target Vehicle with which it was meant to rendezvous and dock. The objective of rendezvous was so important, that it was decided to fly Gemini 6 at the same time as Gemini 7, using the latter as the rendezvous target... This 14 day mission required NASA to solve problems of long-duration space flight... The astronauts also evaluated a new lightweight spacesuit, which proved uncomfortable if worn for a long time in Gemini's hot, cramped quarters. The high point of the mission was the rendezvous with Gemini VI. But the three days that followed were something of an endurance test, and both astronauts, heeding Pete Conrad's Gemini V advice, brought books along. Gemini VII was the longest space flight in U.S. history until the Skylab missions of the 1970s. Flight The launch and ascent were nominal... They spent the rest of their first day in space doing some experiments and eating their first meal... For the first time during a flight, one of the crew was allowed to take off his suit. Borman and Lovell had planned to both take them off two days into the mission when they were satisfied that the environmental system was working properly. The NASA managers did not like this idea and said that at least one crew member had to be wearing a suit at all times. Borman was wearing his suit and was sweating profusely, but agreed to let Lovell stay out his suit as Lovell was the larger of the two and it required a lot of effort to get in and out of a suit in little more space than the front seat of a car. Later the flight controllers ordered Lovell to don his suit and Borman to get out of his. This was because the doctors wanted to see the effects of being suited and unsuited on the crewmembers. So 148 hours into the flight, Borman got his chance to cool down. Finally the NASA managers decided that there was little benefit in having the crew members suited and so relented after a couple of days... Rendezvous Gemini 6A launched December 15... The plan called for the rendezvous to take place on the fourth orbit of Gemini 6A... The radar on Gemini 6A first made contact with Gemini 7 at 3 hours and 15 minutes when they were 234 nautical miles (433 km) away. A third burn put them into a 146-by-148-nautical-mile (270 by 274 km) orbit. As they slowly gained, Walter Schirra put Gemini 6A's computer in charge of the rendezvous, and at 5 hours and 4 minutes, he saw a bright object that he at first thought was the star Sirius, but was in fact Gemini 7. After several more burns the two spacecraft were only 130 feet (40 m) apart. The burns had only used 110 pounds (50 kg) of fuel on Gemini 6A, leaving plenty of fuel. During the next 270 minutes the crews moved as close as 1 foot (30 cm), talking over the radio... Gemini 6A reentered the next day, landing within 9.7 nautical miles (18.0 km) of the planned site, the first truly accurate atmospheric reentry... By this time the novelty of spaceflight had worn off for the crew of Gemini 7. They had spent 11 days in space and had three more to go... Finally the last day of the mission arrived and the crew stored everything for re-entry. The retro-rockets worked perfectly after 14 days in space. They landed within 6.4 nautical miles (11.9 km) of the targeted landing point.

Part 3/3: This is a Korean Air Economy Class (Coach) Flight Review of our flight from Incheon Airport (ICN) in Seoul, South Korea´s largest airport to Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (the airport is also sometimes reffered to as Ho Chi Minh City Airport or Saigon Airport). This Flight Review begins with us arriving at Incheon Airport on another Korean Air Economy Class flight from Amsterdam and we take the viewer through Incheon Airport to Gate 7 where our connection flight to Ho Chi Minh City will be departing from. After spending some time looking around the airport our flight is boarded and the viewer can join us as we walk from the gate to the aircraft. Our flight is onboard one of Korean Air´s Boeing 777 aircraft and we have chosen to sit at the second Economy Class section towards the back of the aircraft. After boarding is completed pushback of the aircraft begins and then we taxi towards the runway from where we quickly takeoff. Once in the air the viewers is given some views of the cabin and the lavatories. We also present the onboard amenities presented to all passengers, we review the Korean Air Inflight Entertainment System, called Beyond and we also present the Korean Air Inflight Magazines and Shopping catalogues. Viewers interested in the Korean Air Economy Class Inflight Meals are in for a treat as we get the oppertunity on this Korean Air Flight to do a longer Inflight Meal presentation. Watch out for our mini-tour of the Galley which one of the Korean Air Flight Attendants was kind enough to let us film. The viewer also gets to see the full approach and final approach towards Ho Chi Minh City Airport. Once we have landed and disembarked our flight, we make our way through Immigration and then to the Baggage Reclaim area at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) This Korean Air Economy Class Flight Review footage is filmed by Maxi and Maro (Travel Vloggers) at Seoul´s Incheon International Airport, onboard a Korean Air Boeing 777 (Economy Class cabin) and inside Ho Chi Minh Citie´s Tan Son Nhat International Airport with our 4K Camcorder which can be seen on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2tyK6D9 OUR IMPRESSIONS: - The cabin crew onboard this flight were friendly and professional and nothing we requested of them was too much. Maxi was even allowed to have another hot meal when he asked for it. - The inflight food and drink service was fantastic. Both of the hot dishes we were served were tasty and well presented. The highlight of the meal was the Cheesecake ice-cream as this was our first time being offered ice-cream on an Economy Class flight. - The legroom on this flight was superb. Maxi loved the fact that he could stretch his legs out fully for a change. We both agree that this is the most legroom we have experienced on a Long-haul Economy Class flight. - The Inflight Entertainment System was modern and up-to-date. Video content included New Releases and Classic Movies from different countries. We made good use of the Map Feature so that we could follow our route from Korea to Vietnam. VERDICT: We enjoyed this flight from start to end. The efficient, smiley and friendly crew members made it a pleasure to be on board this aircraft. We experienced the same excellent service on our Korean Air flight before this one, which is why we can HIGHLY recommend flying Economy Class with Korean Air! Both Maro and I (Maxi) look very much forward to having the chance to fly with this airline again. Wiki writes about Korean Air, "Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd., operating as Korean Air, is the largest airline and flag carrier of South Korea based on fleet size, international destinations and international flights..." A full length full flight video in real time, from Luxembourg to Dusseldorf, onboard Hahn Air Cessna Citation CJ4 D-CHRB operating flight HR311 on July 29 2016. **Every moment of the flight included from airport to airport. ATC for full flight.** BOOK THIS FLIGHT: https://goo.gl/QjBwq4 Our journey begins outside the terminal at Luxembourg International Airport, before we enter the terminal to check in at the Luxair desks. From there it's an easy transition through security to the departure lounge, which is pretty quiet. We make our way to the gate for today's flight, where the passenger service agent soon arrives and informs me that I'm the only passenger on today's flight! The very quick boarding is completed and I make my way down to the bus, on which I'm the only passenger, to be driven out to today's ride, Cessna Citation CJ4 D-CHRB. The captain is waiting to welcome me onboard, and I climb aboard the luxurious private jet to take my pick of the aircraft's 6 seats! The captain shuts the door behind me and welcomes me aboard, giving me information about the aircraft's route, and a brief safety briefing showing the position of the exits, and how to operate the seat and seatbelt. He then takes his place in the flight deck and fires up the engines to take us on our short flight to Dusseldorf. We taxi out to runway 24, holding short for a couple of arrivals, before we line up on the runway. After our take off clearance, the pilots push the throttles open, and we power down the runway like a rocket, getting airborne after only a few seconds. Within a couple of minutes we're at 10,000ft and the seatbelt sign is switched off as we climb away to our cruising altitude of 23,000ft. The captain pops his head back into the cabin and asks if I'd like to go and watch them on the flight deck for a bit, of course I said yes! We then get a good chance to have a look around the cabin, trying out various features such as the tables, seat positions, and the very cool electric window blinds! We soon begin our descent into Dusseldorf, contacting Dusseldorf Approach to get our vectors for an ILS approach onto runway 23R. We get a fantastic view of the approach through the flight deck, and touch down smoothly on runway 23R before getting instructions to taxi to the GAT (General Aviation Terminal) at Dusseldorf. We taxi to the GAT, eventually pulling up alongside a number of other private jets. The captain opens the door to let me off, introducing me to the bus, which again I have all to myself! The bus takes me in to the terminal, where I walk through to the street outside the terminal. NASA's modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA), has come a long way since it first took to the air in the 1970s as an American Airlines passenger jumbo jet. Purchased by NASA from the airline in 1974 for $15,601,000 NASA 905 was modified by Boeing to first carry the prototype Enterprise for approach and landing tests and then later to ferry the space-worthy orbiters on transcontinental flights between their landing and launch sites. On 26 July 1972, NASA officially awarded the contract for construction for its very first Space Shuttle orbiter to Rockwell International (now Boeing). On 18 June 1977, a test-pilot crew boarded Enterprise at the MDD and rode in her crew module for the duration of the first Captive-Active Flight of the Space Shuttle Enterprise/SCA mated pair. For this first Captive-Active Flight, Enterprise shuttle plane remained firmly attached to the SCA as her test-pilot crew operated her Flight Control Systems. Following this highly successful first crewed and powered flight of Enterprise (and any Space Shuttle orbiter), two more crewed Captive-Active Flights were conducted

A full length full flight video in real time with Swiss, from Manchester to Zurich in business class, onboard Bombardier C-Series CS100 HB-JBA operating flight LX391 on July 29 2016. **Every moment of the flight included from airport to airport. ATC for approach and landing into Zurich.** Our journey today begins on the Skylink bridge at Manchester Airport making our way from the rail station to Terminal 1. As we are flying in business class today, we make our way to the priority lane at security, bypassing the long line on this busy summer morning. Once past security we head to the Aspire lounge, which gives us a great view of the ramp as well as a comfortable environment to relax in ahead of our flight. After grabbing a coffee and the essential bacon roll, we sit and watch the planes for a while before heading back into the airport an making our way to the gate for today's flight. There is a delay in boarding the aircraft due to a technical fault and we wait for this to be fixed. Eventually we board the aircraft 30 minutes behind schedule, walking across the ramp and taking our seat in row 1 on this brand new Bombardier CS100. The captain welcomes us aboard as we enjoy a welcome drink, and before long we push back and taxi out to runway 23L. We make a powerful departure from Manchester, climbing away like a rocket thanks to the CS100's powerful PW1000G engines. We climb to our cruising altitude of 39,000ft for today's flight. We are treated to a lovely cooked breakfast with a choice of drinks, but due to the early hour I decide to just take a coffee. We commence our descent down into Zurich getting the trademark Swiss chocolate, and make our approach to runway 14. As we cross the threshold of runway 14, the pilot initiates a go-around due to another aircraft on the runway that didn't vacate in time. Part 2/3: This is a Korean Air Flight Review of our Economy Class (Coach) flight from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) to Incheon International Airport (ICN), South Korea's largest airport. Our flight is onboard a Korean Air Airbus A330 (Airbus A330-200) where the seat configuration is 2-4-2 in Economy Class and 2-2-2 in Business Class. This Korean Air Flight Review covers the walk to the gate at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport do the boarding of our Korean Air flight to Seoul. After boarding taxi begins out toward the runway and then we takeoff. Following takeoff we present the Korean Air Economy Class cabin, the Korean Air Economy Class seats, the Korean Air Inflight Entertainment System, Korean Air Inflight Meals, Korean Air Inflight Drinks, Korean Air Amenity Bag, Korean Air Duty Free shopping magazines, Korean Air Inflight magazine, Korean Air Onboard Safety Card, Korean Air Economy Class Lavatories. The video also includes our arrival at Seoul´s Incheon International Airport and our disembarkation from our Korean Air Airbus A330 (Airbus A330-200) Economy Class flight. OUR IMPRESSIONS: - The cabin crew onboard this flight were friendly professional and very efficient, we would go as far as to say, maybe the most efficient cabin crew we have ever experienced! - The inflight food and drink services were very good. Very noteworthy and appreciated was the bottle of water waiting for us at our seat when we came onboard. Both the dinner and breakfast served was good and as Westerners we were very happy to get the chance to try Bibimbap. The process of mixing it up on the tray was great fun and it contributed to making this flight a very memorable one. - The legroom was adequate comparable to competing Asian Airlines such as Thai Airways. Maro did miss having a foot rest for her feet (like the ones found on Thai Airways). - The inflight entertainment system was excellent and offered a very good selection of Western and Asian movies to keep us busy during the flight. We were especially happy to see that two external cameras were also available to show the view outside the aircraft. VERDICT: We enjoyed this flight from start to end. The efficient, friendly and very smartly dressed crew members created a positive atmosphere onboard and nothing was too much to ask for. Experiencing Bibimbap was one of the highlights of the flight, as it was a "unique" inflight meal. We can highly recommend this airline for your next flight to Asia. We look forward to flying Korean Air again! This Korean Air Flight Review footage is filmed by Maxi and Maro (Travel Vloggers) at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, onboard a Korean Air Airbus A330 (Economy Class cabin) and inside Seoul´s Incheon International Airport with our 4K Camcorder which can be seen on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2tyK6D9 Wiki writes about Korean Air, "Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd., operating as Korean Air, is the largest airline and flag carrier of South Korea based on fleet size, international destinations and international flights..." Wiki writes about Incheon International Airport, "Incheon International Airport is the largest airport in South Korea, the primary airport serving the Seoul Capital Area, and one of the largest and busiest airports in the world..."
